The life science industry is thriving in the Research Triangle Region. And Johnston County is home to some of the largest biopharma manufacturing facilities in the world. For proof, just take a quick drive down US Hwy 70 near Clayton. There you will find both Spanish-owned Grifols and Danish-owned Novo Nordisk. Both corporations are making major investments in the area and seem to be on a constant hiring spree. Johnston County is a founding member of the BioPharma Crescent, a five county consortium that promotes Eastern North Carolina as an outstanding location for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Johnston County sits at the intersection of two major Interstates, I-95 (North/South) and I-40 (East/West) at the mid-point of the eastern seaboard. It’s also only 100 miles (all interstate miles) from deepwater Port of Wilmington. This location and incredible transportation assets, combined with its proximity to one of the fastest growing regions in the US, makes it an outstanding choice for warehouse and distribution operations.
